We are seeking a Data Engineer with experience in Python to join our technology team in London and progress our web-based private equity management platform. Responsibilities
Act as a champion for good data and good data architecture in the engineering team
Improve, create and maintain data ingest pipelines for receiving data from fund admins that will be shown in our applications
Maintain the databases for our environments
Collaborate with team members to design, develop and implement new features and functionality
Write clean, maintainable, efficient and well tested code
Troubleshoot and debug data issues
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices and share them with the rest of the engineering team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science. We will consider candidates with backgrounds in other areas as long as they can demonstrate a strong history of delivery in our technologies.
At least 3 years of experience with data and python
Experience with Azure and using it for data processing, storage, and/or reporting
Experience in designing data stores (whether for relational, dimensional, NoSQL, Delta, etc)
Experience with our web development technology stack is a plus (typescript, react, node)
Experience working with financial services is a plus
Familiarity with Git and version control (particularly Azure DevOps)
Experience with Agile development methodologies

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, e.g. for data reconciliations, assessing data quality, and bug resolution
Experience with data reporting technologies (e.g. PowerBI) to provide information to business users (for canned or self-service reporting) as well as the IT function (e.g. for service monitoring/alerting/proactive data quality reporting) would be a bonus
