Opportunity:
A Data Steward in our firm’s environment is responsible for hands-on management of critical Product Data throughout its lifecycle—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and accessibility for fund administration, client reporting, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work on the firm’s critical business data assets development and maintenance on our web-based private equity management platform. The role requires working closely with the Platform and Lifecycle team, Product Structuring, and Technology team to help bridge the gap between business needs and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Verification: Ensure accurate and up-to-date data for each fund on the platform.
Data Dissemination: Share static data with key third-party data partners (FEFundInfo, SIX, etc.).
Performance Reporting: Generate and distribute monthly performance scenarios through our technology platform.
Automation: Significant opportunity to develop automation of processes with developer resource to support.
Collaboration: Work closely with third-party data providers (SIX, FEFundInfo, Clearstream).
Reconciliation: Verify data consistency across all sources.
Data Governance & Policy Implementation
Work with internal stakeholders to develop, refine, and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Manage thedata oversight to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, data privacy laws, and industry best practices.
Ensure suitable controls and KPIs are in place over data permissioning, approvals and change management.
Data Quality & Integrity
Monitor and maintain data quality metrics (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness), with a particular focus on Product Data (pricing, NAVs, holdings).
Investigate and resolve discrepancies—such as fund pricing mismatches—and perform root-cause analyses in collaboration with fund administrators and external data providers.
Own all data lineage documentation, ensuring accurate data flows while acting as the custodian of external data provider relationships.
Data Standardization & Definitions
Define and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and business glossaries to ensure consistent usage of data across the firm.
Collaborate with business owners to create standardized data elements and nomenclature, particularly for complex financial instruments and fund structures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a liaison between data producers and data consumers.
Work closely with external data vendors to ensure accurate and timely data feeds, monitoring SLAs and addressing any feed-related issues.
Partner with technology teams to gather requirements and drive enhancements for data-centric projects, including system integrations and platform upgrades.
Data Lifecycle Management
Develop and maintain strategies and frameworks to capture, store, and retain financial data in compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
Oversee processes for archiving or retiring outdated data, ensuring full auditability and traceability for historical records.
Documentation & Reporting
Create and regularly update documentation capturing data ownership, lineage, and transformation rules.
Generate periodic and ad-hoc reports on data quality, usage statistics, and remediation progress for management.
Project & Change Management
Hands-on involvement in data-focused projects: design, build, and maintain applications or dashboards.
Coordinate with technology and operations teams to plan and implement system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to critical business processes.
Team Growth & Leadership
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Data Stewardship function, identifying opportunities to improve processes and adopt new technologies.
Mentor junior team members and, over time, build and lead a specialised Data Stewardship team—expanding the function to support the firm’s evolving data needs.

Industry Experience:
3–5 years of data management, governance, or analysis experience within fund administration, asset management, or financial services.
Preferably a familiarity with Product Data (e.g., NAV calculation, performance reporting, pricing feeds) and industry regulations.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MS in Data Analytics) or certifications (e.g., CDMP) are a plus.
